2019 Summer Agronomist Internship - Ulysses Division

Agronomist Internship Job Description
Crop Quest agronomist interns work directly with Crop Quest agronomists during the growing season (usually mid-May to mid-August) to gain hands-on crop production experience as a crop consultant. Many interns are given priority for full time agronomist positions upon completion of their Bachelor degree. Crop Quest offers a competitive monthly wage for their internship position.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Work Closely with Experienced Agronomist(s)
Perform Regular Field Checks & Diagnose Problems
Insect, Weed & Disease Monitoring
Monitor Soil Moisture Status
Irrigation Scheduling
Soil Sampling
Assist Producers with Equipment Calibration
Generating Computerized Detailed Field Reports
Other Duties as Necessary
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Proficient computer skills - Microsoft Office software, email, internet, spread sheets
Good diagnostic and decision making skills
Proven ability to effectively communicate verbal & written skills
Desire to serve farmers and others involved in the agriculture industry
Willingness to work as a team member
Desire to remain updated with new agriculture trends and technology
Motivation to learn daily
Ability to work outside during heat of day & ability to walk several miles per day
Agronomist Intern Position Candidates Credentials / Experience:
Student pursuing a degree in agriculture with emphasis on agronomy, crop, soil, weed management, ag business, or other ag science course work
Applicant with background in agriculture will have advantages
Valid Drivers License

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
